DP-people are shaken about in the company. Apart from communicating new programs in small groups, they shall often also instruct single users at their place of work and assist users in case of trouble.

They are expected to be trouble-shooters on call, ad-hoc-problem solvers in the jungle of hard- and software-breakdowns. Defeat and heroism are closely related here. Consequently their appearance at foreign work stations is not always as relaxed as requested; nervousness and arrogance quickly come up. A difficult situation also for the one who is looking for help: the dickey self-assuredness on the PC makes people sensitive towards wrong tones. This creates defence and non-productive tensions - this way DP-departments get a bad reputation. Clever appearance is required in cooperative DP-consultancy - and can be learned.

Also when conveying new programs these IT specialists face a challenge or are even incapable of handling the challenge. Learners are offered comprehensive learning matters; they understand everything in the training classroom, however, use only parts of it later on with negligible success. Modern DP trainings focus on self-directed learning, reduce the learning matter to the starting platform and boost the participants’ ability to help themselves. This requires a new dramaturgy and high method competence.

For DP-multipliers, who train or advise in-house and outside the company, this training offers the possibility to enlarge their method competence and to get to know new problem solving in knowledge transfer. The training conveys the view to the situation, leads the trainer/ advisor to the correct behaviour and opens up ways of sustainable troubleshooting.
