In contact with partners, employees and colleagues in Eastern Asia, in negotiations again and again misunderstandings come up concerning agreements or anyhow the Eastern Asian's behaviour is a mystery - in spite of good knowledge of foreign languages on both sides. Among others this results from diverging aims in life and the different significance contributed to personal relations. In how far are emotions shown? In addition to this contrasting attitudes play an important role, e.g. with regard to individuals - collective, conflict - harmony and objective - time.
 

objectives

In spite of national cultural peculiarities we can define common cultural standards for the countries China, Japan and Korea. With help of general explanatory principles the participants will learn to understand and to estimate motivations and values, on which actions of members of the Eastern Asian culture are based. The participants will be able to recognize and to predict expectations about their own and other people's behaviour in a better way. Finally they will be capable of identifying intercultural fields of conflict in time and of transferring their intentions more successfully.
