Constant changes in the company’s environment, increasing price and sales fluctuations, high returns on investment expected by investors, time-consuming obligations to report, compliance with external and internal rules — today’s management faces a multitude of challenges, which cannot be handled without a target-oriented controlling. Modern controlling instruments and indices therefore serve as a basis for decision-making in day-to-day business.

The participants will get an overview of typical methods and instruments of controlling and will be enabled to use them in practice as well as to adapt them corresponding to the given facts in their company. They will establish understanding for correlations and will learn to evaluate different procedures of capital budgeting and cost accounting and to leverage them for their tasks. By means of working on case examples they will gain compact and user-oriented controlling know-how within short time, which will decisively promote them in coping with daily problems.

We will systematically work out exemplary questions and problems regarding various areas of operative controlling. Examples of use will cover a broad range of different sub-disciplines, starting from procurement, personnel up to sales controlling. Furthermore in-subjects, future prospects and pitfalls of operative controlling will be picked out as central themes.
