Steinbeis Hochschule Berlin and FRIEDRICHSBAD sign cooperation agreement

In August 2009 job-accompanying studies of business economics will start in North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin for dedicated specialists and determined management trainees.
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a certified academic degree of international prestige and development prospects to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and graduation.

Why starting Bachelor studies?
Bachelor and Master Programmes will be the rule in future; other degrees will become the exception. The BBA allows for this development: Until 2010 a standardised academic area shall be developed in Europe, the core will be a two-level study structure with Bachelor and Master Programmes.

The Steinbeis Hochschule Berlin (SHB) was founded in 1998 as an affiliated company of the Steinbeis-foundation for business development. As an officially recognised scientific academy it has got the status of a university.
Today it is one of Germany’s biggest private academies, with currently about 2.500 students and about 700 teachers. It manages without government aid and is therefore independent. In co-operation with international partner academies and managements, SHB offers transfer and application oriented courses of studies according to the dual principle, leading to Bachelor, Master and graduation degrees. All courses of studies and degrees are internationally accepted and are accredited corresponding to the specifications of the Bologna Conference of EC-ministers of education.
The Steinbeis Hochschule Berlin (SHB) stands for a postgraduate academy for the competence-transfer between science and economy. It is a company in the Steinbeis-foundation system for business development and is located at the Steinbeis-Haus Berlin. It has access to the network of the worldwide acting Steinbeis-foundation with more than 700 institutes, 4.000 employees and 600 professors.

Directions to the ISM campus in Dortmund

By Car
The ISM Academy is situated close to the motorway intersection Dortmund West where the Sauerlandlinie A 45 (Frankfurt-Dortmund) crosses the Ruhrschnellweg B 1 / A 40. From here, the university is connected with the motorways leading to Unna, Bremen, Hannover/Berlin and Kassel. Coming from the direction of the Kamener Kreuz or Oberhausen, ISM Academy is within easy reach by using motorway A2. At the Westhofener Kreuz, the A 45 (Dortmund-Hanau/Frankfurt am Main) crosses the A 1, leading to Bremen and Cologne.
The best motorway exit you find on the A 45 is “Dortmund-Eichlinghofen” and on the B 1 / A 40 “Dortmund-Dorstfeld”.

By Train
From the main train station in Dortmund, the ISM Academy can be reached by using the suburban train number 1 and taking the exit “Dortmund Universität”. From here, bus number 462 leaves towards “Technologiepark”. The ISM Academy is located near the bus stop “Joseph-v.-Fraunhofer-Str.”. You may also choose to walk about 15 minutes uphill the Otto-Hahn-Str. By taking bus and/or train, the ISM Academy is also within easy reach from Bochum, Essen, Mülheim an der Ruhr and Duisburg. Moreover, during the semester there are additional suburban trains shuttling back and forth between Dortmund and Bochum.

By Plane
Dortmund has its own airport with several air connections within Central Europe, i.e. Amsterdam, Berlin, Dresden, Katowice, Krakow, Leipzig, London, Munich, Nuremberg, Paris, Stuttgart, Vienna and Zurich. To get from the Dortmund airport to the ISM Academy campus, which are approximately 20 kilometers apart, you can use a shuttle bus to the main train station and then switch to the suburban train number 1 to “Dortmund Universität”. The Rhine-Ruhr-Airport in Dusseldorf, 60 kilometers away from Dortmund, offers additional international connections. From there, the suburban train S1 takes you as well to “Dortmund Universität”. Usually, however, it is faster to use the regional train ("Regional Express") to Dortmund main station and then take the suburban train since the regional train does not stop as often as the suburban trains do.
